Overview

The Per Diem MAP Training Specialist provides Medication Administration Program (MAP) training coverage on an as-needed basis across Vinfen Training Center locations in Lawrence, Allston, Weymouth, and Hyannis. This role delivers MAP certification, recertification, and other approved MAP training in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and Department of Public Health (DPH) requirements and Vinfen standards. This is a per diem, nonsupervisory position designed to provide additional instructional coverage based on training schedules, 
instructor availability, and organizational needs. Hours and training locations will vary.

Responsibilities

Training & Facilitation 
• Facilitates MAP certification, recertification, and other approved MAP training sessions in accordance with state and Vinfen requirements. 
• Delivers clear, learner-centered instruction using approved MAP curriculum, materials, and instructional practices. 
• Supports learners with practice, questions, and preparation required as part of the scheduled training. Maintain a professional, supportive, and effective learning environment. 
• Provides training coverage at Vinfen Training Center locations in Lawrence, Allston, Weymouth, and Hyannis, based on organizational need. 
• Maintains flexibility to support scheduled classes, instructor absences, additional training capacity, and other identified coverage needs. 
• Coordinates with the MAP Training Program team regarding assigned classes, locations, materials, and other training needs. 


Documentation 
• Completes required attendance records, training documentation, test scores, certification forms, and other required records. 
• Ensures all documentation is accurate and submitted within required timeframes. 
• Communicates learner concerns, training issues, or follow-up needs to the MAP Training Program leadership team. 


Other 
• Follows all DDS, DPH, MAP, and Vinfen training requirements. 
• Performs other, related training duties as assigned


Knowledge and Skills:
• Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of Massachusetts DDS and DPH MAP requirements and medication safety practices. 
• Ability to effectively facilitate adult learners. Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Ability to maintain instructional professionalism and confidentiality. 
• Ability to work independently while following established curriculum, procedures, and training expectations. 
• Flexibility to provide training at multiple Vinfen locations.

Qualifications

Typical Requirements:
• Active RN license in Massachusetts. 
• Certified MAP Trainer or ability to obtain MAP Trainer certification within 60 days of hire. 
• Experience delivering MAP or clinical training preferred. 
• Experience in human services, healthcare, residential services, or a related environment preferred. Ability to travel to Vinfen Training Center locations in Lawrence, Allston, Weymouth, and Hyannis as assigned. 
 
Preferred /Required Education:
Associate's degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Driving Requirements:
Driving is a requirement for this position using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle. If using a personal vehicle, you must possess and maintain adequate insurance as well as maintain a safe driving record which is subject to annual checks. A valid driver's license must be presented at the time of employment. Incumbents must be at least 21 years of age, have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months, and must be able to pass a driver's screening background check. 

Physical Effort:
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer.
Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time as needed.
Ability to bend, reach, file, sit, stand and move around the facility.
Ability to speak, hear and communicate with clients, staff and external representatives. 
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Required Certifications/Trainings:
CPR required within 2 weeks of hire 
MAP Trainer Certification required within 90 days of hire
Required Credentials/Licenses:
Registered Nurse (RN) in state of service required.

Pay Range

USD $51.25 - USD $51.25 /Hr.
