Overview

The Workforce Development Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality, learner-centered training experiences that support employee growth, compliance, and organizational excellence. This role facilitates both virtual and in-person learning sessions using adult learning best practices, inclusive instructional strategies, and appropriate training technology. When not actively facilitating, the Specialist contributes to content updates, training preparation, and continuous improvement efforts within the learning ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Job Duties
Training Facilitation & Delivery 
• Facilitates live and virtual instructor-led training sessions using interactive, learner-centered methods grounded in adult learning theory. 
• Creates psychologically safe and inclusive learning environments that support learners of all backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels. 
• Adapts facilitation style based on learner needs, modality, content complexity, and engagement data. Learning & Development Support 
• Assists with updating or refining training materials to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment to organizational standards. 
• Provides feedback to instructional designers regarding learner readiness, knowledge gaps, and content improvement opportunities. 
• Supports the development of microlearning, job aids, and reinforcement strategies as assigned. 


Training Technology & LMS Use 
• Uses learning platforms, virtual delivery tools, polls, breakout groups, and engagement technology to enhance learner interaction. 
• Uploads, reviews, and organizes content within the Learning Management System (LMS) as assigned. 
• Troubleshoots routine technology issues for learners during sessions and escalates technical issues when needed. 


Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership 
• Partners with operational leaders, instructional designers, HR, and compliance teams to align training with role expectations and organizational priorities. 
• Provides consultative guidance to managers regarding learner performance trends and training recommendations. 


Evaluation & Continuous Improvement 
• Collects and reviews learner feedback, completion data, and assessment results to evaluate program success. 
• Recommends enhancements to delivery methods, content, and facilitation tools. 
• Stays current on instructional trends, adult learning research, and evolving workforce development practices.


Knowledge and Skills:
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences. 
• Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional strategies. 
• Ability to create inclusive learning environments that reflect cultural humility and universal design practices. 
• Proficiency in training delivery platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams), LMS navigation, and basic multimedia tools. 
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills. 
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver high-quality learning experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Typical Requirements:
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in learning facilitation, professional development, or workforce training. 
• Experience delivering both in-person and virtual training.


Preferred /Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in education, training, human resources, organizational development or related field preferred.


Driving Requirements:
Driving is not required.


Physical Effort:
Administrative Roles - Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques.

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer.

Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time as needed.

Ability to bend, reach, file, sit, stand and move around the facility.

Ability to speak, hear and communicate with clients, staff and external representatives. 
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay Range

USD $60,000.00 - USD $65,000.00 /Yr.
