Overview

Position Summary:

The Director of IT Operations is responsible for ensuring that all production IT systems at Vinfen are maintained and supported in a manner which ensures that they are both fit for purpose and fit for use. The scope of responsibility includes Help Desk, Business Systems Administration, Database and Reporting, Cyber Security, back office Network, and Connectivity functions.

This position is responsible for all vendor relationships in relation to support and maintenance of the IT systems within the purview of the role.

 

This position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to system operation efficiency, a desire to drive process improvement, and the ability to measure the performance of their team and systems.  An incumbent in this position must have a strong technical background and experience, project management experience, a customer service mindset, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential job duties/responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the information listed below:

  • Develops and/or enhances practices and procedures that align with the IT Department’s goals for network performance and reliability.
  • Recruits, trains, and develops staff.
  • Directs team managers to ensure that they adhere to established practices and procedures as well as meet performance goals.
  • Ensures availability of all production systems across a 24x7x365 operational environment.
  • Owns and maintains all IT Operations dashboards and reports.
  • Collaborates with co-workers and constituencies to ensure that project statuses are communicated as needed across all business departments.
  • Creates and maintains documentation of processes and procedures and contributes to the departmental documentation repository.
  • Proactively approaches maintenance of systems and works to eliminate problems before any impact on ongoing operations is experienced.
  • Analyzes problems to determine cause or source of equipment or software malfunction.
  • Performs other related duties, as required.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Seven to ten years of diverse IT experience in environments, preference given to candidates with experience similar to a large non-profit human services agency.
  • Ten years of experience with Microsoft’s suite of productivity tools including Active Directory, MS Exchange, and MS Office 365.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years supervisory experience.
  • Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and Cisco certifications preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in multiple IT discipline areas within purview of this role (Help Desk, Network Services, Database and Reporting, Systems Administration).

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Database Management, or related required; Master’s degree preferred.
