Overview

The Billing Associate II performs accounts receivable and billing duties as a part of Vinfen's Revenue Team, including the coordination of all funding sources and third-party billings.

Job Duties:

  • Performs all billing functions of Revenue department fluently and with minimal oversight.
  • Researches and investigates claims and claims payments to accurately capture payments, client responsibility.
  • Responsible for assigned third party billing, including but not limited to; the timely and accurate submission of all third-party bills, preparation of weekly departmental third party billing reports and analysis.
  • Communicates to departmental leadership on trends and issues identified.
  • Communicates and coordinates with site personnel to resolve any possible discrepancies and the gathering of information in a timely manner to facilitate timely billing.
  • Works in conjunction with Management team on denial management of assigned payers, including but not limited to, filing of initial appeals, follow up with payers to resolve outstanding claims and submission of corrected claims.
  • Assists with the maintenance of all paper and electronic billing systems and records.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate execution of daily and monthly activities required for month end close.
  • Performs various administrative support duties, such as filing, faxing, answering phones, and mail, as required.
  • Works independently to provide Excel-based and/or system-based reports, as needed.
  • Performs special projects for the Accounts Receivable Department.
  • Performs data entry, as required.
  • Perform other related duties, as required.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One to three years' experience in a billing-related function.
  • General knowledge of accounts receivable procedures and practices
  • Familiarity and understanding of ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS coding
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite applications, Excel and Word
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to perform mathematical functions and knowledge of Excel formulas
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of Medicaid, Medicare and other third-party billing insurances.
  • Experience working for a human services organization and/or other behavioral health provider strongly preferred
  • Must be able to successfully pass a multistate CORI, SORI, reference check, employment verification, education and credentialing background check.

Pay Range

USD $25.00 - USD $26.50 /Hr.
