Overview

Vinfen, in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health and the Massachusetts Mental Health Center (MMHC), a state operated mental health clinic, is seeking a part time psychologist to join our dynamic young adult community clinic. We are looking for a skilled and compassionate professional with expertise in Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) treatment interventions and specialized psychological assessments to serve transitional aged youth exhibiting complex, high-risk behaviors, as well as substance abuse disorders. This position offers the opportunity to work as a part of a well established multi-disciplinary team embedded within the Massachusetts DMH. The psychologist will provide direct clinical services and expert consultation to support individualized treatment planning, guide the implementation of EBPs, and ensure accurate interpretation of standardized assessments.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct specialized psychological assessments to evaluate high risk behaviors, including self harm, aggression, and impulsivity.  
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to client needs. 
  • Deliver individual and group therapy, utilizing a range of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other EBP approaches.  
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create holistic, coordinated care plans. 
  • Monitor treatment progress and adjust interventions based on clinical assessments and client feedback.  
  • Offer expert consultation on EBP selection, implementation, and treatment planning.  
  • Train and support staff in the interpretation and application of standardized psychological assessments. 
  • Review and integrate assessment data to refine and inform ongoing care.  
  • Consult on complex cases, especially those involving high-risk behaviors or multifaceted clinical presentations. 

 

The MMHC is affiliated with the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Department of Psychiatry.  This position will provide opportunities for teaching and supervision along with appointment as Instructor or Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. Opportunities to provide supervision of psychology interns within our APA-approved pre-doctoral psychology internship are available. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Licensed as a psychologist in Massachusetts. Licensure Requirement: Candidates who are not currently licensed to practice psychology in the State of Massachusetts must obtain licensure from the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Psychologists within six (6) months of hire as a condition of continued employment. 
  • Knowledge and experience working with transitional age youth with severe and persistent mental illness in community settings. 
  • Knowledge and experience with young adults who are dully diagnosed. 
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. 

 
Scheduled hours: TBD (20hrs) 
 
All candidates for this position must be at least 21 years of age and be able to successfully pass a CORI, reference and multi-state background and professional licensure check.

Pay Range

USD $50,500.00 - USD $70,800.00 /Yr.
