The Director of Learning and Development leads the Training Department in the design, development, and delivery of training and employee development activities. Act as consultant to management regarding training and development issues. This hybrid position requires two days a week in our Cambridge, Massachusetts headquarters location.

• Develop and implement learning strategy that better informs, trains, and support employees across all departments so that we continuously improve in fulfilling Vinfen’s mission.
• Partner with Vinfen leadership on a regular basis to understand the needs of Vinfen learners so that relevant and practical training is developed to meet the particular learning and development needs of employees.
• Direct and manage all activities of the Training Center, including satellite locations. Hire and deploy staff appropriate to their positions and talents to ensure optimal achievement of operational and financial goals.
• Manage staff performance. Provide direction, training, and coaching. conduct performance planning and review sessions; provide guidance on career development. Apply counseling, disciplinary, and corrective action programs, as necessary.
• Conduct needs assessments and recommends programs and resources for training sessions and development activities. Continually improve the training and development programs and systems.
• Develop and implement training and development programs ranging from basic job competency skills to advanced academic opportunities. Coordinate programs required for licensing/certification of needed credentials of direct care staff.
• In collaboration with the Chief People Officer, prepare an annual budget and manage the Training Center activities within budget.
• Continuously improve the effectiveness of processes and procedures in order to enhance, expand or eliminate, as necessary. In doing so, make use of information systems to anticipate training needs and optimal geographic distribution of training activities.
• Act as consultant and advisor to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding training and development issues. Provide training programs to regional sites.
• Collaborate with other Human Resources Department members to add value whenever possible.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the training policy and procedures manual.
• Maintain currency on training and development issues and trends.
• Perform other related duties, as required.

Typical Requirements:
